India beats Pakistan by 7 wickets in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Shreyas Iyer completed his half-century by hitting a powerful four and gave India its 8th win in the World Cup by 7 wickets against its arch-rival Pakistan. With this huge win, India has ousted New Zealand from the top of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Points Table and now is in the pole position.

Indian Captain Rohit Sharma once again brought his ‘A’ game to the table and scored 86 runs in 63 balls to lead India to a stunning 7-wicket win against Pakistan. Team India, with its all-round performance in bowling and battling, was successful in defeating its rival Pakistan by 7 wickets.

This was India’s record 8th win over their arch-rivals in the mega cricket event. India won the toss and the team decided to field first. The Indian team displayed a collective team effort with Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja all taking two wickets each. The entire Pakistan team was bowled out for a total of 191 runs.

Babar Azam (50 runs) and Mohammad Rizwan (49 runs) looked quite promising but the rest of Pakistani’s batsmen failed to impress with their batting performance. India secured their 8th consecutive win in style and this particular win was unquestionably their most comfortable to date.

The target of 192 runs could never weaken the strong Indian batting line-up and the Indian Captain Rohit Sharma made it look even easier with an excellent batting performance. Rohit’s timing was impeccable and he beautifully dismantled the Pakistani fast bowlers. A memorable moment was his pull shot against Haris Rauf, which went over deep backward square leg.

However, Rohit Sharma missed out on his century as Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi dismissed him for 85 runs. The fans and crowd at Ahmedabad appreciated his brilliant innings and after that, KL Rahul joined the run chase with Shreyas Iyer.

The Indian bowlers completely dominated the game and demolished Pakistan’s innings. The Pakistani team led by Captain Babar Azam was performing well for 30 overs, but soon as fast bowler Mohammad Siraj ended the big partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, the Pakistani batting line-up collapsed and the team was all out at a low score of 191 runs.

The fast bowling trio of Mohammad Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya took two wickets each. Apart from that, spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav also contributed to the team by taking two wickets each.
